I can't believe the title of this thread.

After 178 replies to the '... best ccf ever ... ' saga I would have thought that you (Neil) had received all the 'critique' that you can cope with.

In fact if I remember rightly you were not at all noble at receiving the last batch of critique with, personal insults to Echoslob, **'s for obvious expletives and lots of throwing your toys out of your pram when getting (IMHO) pretty fair comments on your very 'average' ccf. Who knows how you will react when someone responds to this thread with some constructive criticism for you!!

Being realistic Neil, no one on this site cares what your ccf looks like. We all like helping out when someone has a problem but you seem to have a handle on ProntoEdit so the rest is personal judgement and creativity.

One of the great things about Pronto / Prontopro is that you can design it exactly as you want, cribbing bit's of other's ccf to improve your own. You seem to be trying to create an industry standard or 'perfect' ccf but by the same logic as the phrase "you cannot please everyone all of the time" there will never be a 'best'.

So go on Neil, be brave, design it how you want it to work, to the standard you find acceptable, and drop the forum a line when you run into difficulty.

i am not doing this to get approval. i am looking to get CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. look at the title of the thread. It is not boastful or claiming anything at all! All i did is ask for help on making it look as good as it can. i want criticism. i took all of the last threads critiques and fixed up my ccf. The reason why i responded negatively was because it was more like an attack. Again i am not looking for someone to tell me how to make it preform i am looking to make the bitmaps look as nice as possible. By no means am i looking into being a pronto edit standard. just like many others i am trying to make a remote for myself that is both impressive and appealing at the same time. Look at my new ccf... it has come a long way as far as appearance.

Christopher: I for don't only come here to help a beginner get a handle on PE (but I definitely help with that too). One of the reason I come back is to gain more info and ideas. I think good discussions bring up good ideas, that eventually improve my CCF. When I first came here I would learn IR on the PC and I did not have hidden IR pages. Those are two improvements to the way I work that I can definitely say came about from this site. There is nothing wrong with someone asking how to better their CCF, and maybe someone's comments might be implementable in my CCF. Or maybe Neil had some ideas I might use.
