I just purchased a pronto 2000. I have a Mac G3 so I am going to use a relatives PC to download a ccf from the Remote Central database. Do I download the file to the desktop and then drag and drop it to the Pronto Icon on the Pc? Do I have to download any software to my relatives Pc prior to getting the ccf? I am hoping to find a ccf that is the closest match to my gear and then just learn codes from my remotes to the designed buttons on the ccf, is that a good wayt to go? Thanks for the help in advance! Gaffer

Gaffer, only PE4 needs to be installed. In it you simply open the d/led file and can then have a look at it by using the emulator which comes with PE4. André

Thank You! Andr'e How do I get the ccf into the pronto from the Pc? And am I right in assuming that I can learn from my remotes using the buttoms created in the ccf in order to make the ccf work for my gear? I am not very Pc literate, more use to point and click, drag and drop in the Mac environment. Gaffer

Gaffer, the programme ProntoEdit4 has a function to download the CCF into the Pronto and vice versa. The FAQs on this site are really great, here's the link remotecentral FAQsIf this doesn't help, just mail me. André |

The downloaded files are in .zip format and must be unzipped before they will be of use in any PE Program. Click on the links in the box below, in particular you will find : the FAQ, Reviews, Play With It, Phases, Planning and ALIAS.CCF helpful when just starting out.
And remember when you ask questions to be specific in your Heading and very specific in your question, including precisely what your problem/question is and what model Remote you have and what OS you are using on your PC.
Also, don't forget the Search Forum at the bottom of the Page. It may seem slow but it is VERY thourough and don't be mislead by the "0%" you will see on the first screen, it is only a progress marker.
