Just got my 5200 (upgrade from 5000i)

I have transferred over my CCF (with a few extra hard button assignments).
Gone through the re-booting thing (had to hyperterminal to fix)

Then I was getting a lot of crashes.

Narrowed it down to:
If I jump to a panel on the macro side that I have not navigated to since reboot using the macro menu, it crashes.

Presumably this means that I could not disable the macro menu as I would not be able to get round this crash.

Does this make any sense?

Do a search on the 5200. There was a thread by drhb about the same exact thing.

After download to the remote, BEFORE anything else, press the "Macro" menu at the top. Then press the "Home" key.

This seems to take care of the problem.

And if we're luckey, Marantz will fix this undocumented "feature". What's it been now - 5 months.

On the other hand, it does keep the traffic up on the forum. ;-)

Thanks for that,
I had had a quick search but hadn't found exactly the same thing.

I had discovered the macro menu, home workaround but thanks for your help.

Anything else I should know about the 5200?

Bruce,

No other "bugs" that I know of - providing you're using the latest firmware. There's another problem on the 9200 but that's a color thing.
