My local dealer is trying to talk me into the Marantz Rc-5200 rather than the TSU-2000. What are the major differences between the two. Also, the Marantz is alot more expensive. Which one has the most to offer. Which one would you buy??

Well, I own the color version of the Marantz. Major advantages are: Programmable portion of the screen is larger; Programmable cursor pad/more hard buttons; Additional programming options, multiple jumps within an action list, jump back/forward. Some of this probably doesn't mean much, but hope it helps some. Jim L

RC5200: More hard buttons multiple jumps back/forward jumps (but cannot put more then one back/forward on a button) can change shape of scroll arrows lock out macro/device menu in US I think 3 year warranty (1 year in Canada) more usable memory (no UDB) larger use of screen area
Pronto
custom beeps (so you can make little tunes) Timers (automation, like turn on TV at 6 PM) UDB (large IR database)

Your dealer may be right, I'm trying to upgrade my TSU2000 into an RC5200.
How much is your dealer asking for?

Help with rc5200? I just bought the rc5200, downloaded the touch screen setup, uploaded the configuration that came with the 5200. Now when I click on any button, lets say the DVD play button and have it learn the ir from my DVD play button, I continuosly get this message - tochscreen Se.exe had generated error and will be closed by windows. Does anyone now whats up. thanks, CJ

To my eyes, the larger screen real estate on the 52/92 Marantz series is a BIG plus. I would use the emulator for both remotes, to see the difference... Harris
