Need more information. Does it work otherwise? Is it completely dead? Have you checked the batteries? Have you adjusted the contrast wheel?

The batteries are not the problem. I have charged them and tried fresh alkalines. Until yesterday when I attempted to download software from this site, I heard beeps and could see the screen darken with the contrast adjustment, but now I don't.

Does the remote appear to work (albeit invisibly)? Or is it "dead" with no life whatsoever?

No it does not control anything. It is completely dead now, but was beeping and showing some change in contrast until I downloaded software from Marantz.

what software did you download from Marantz?

or
A Bios Flash

What did you do with the software after downloaded it?
download a ccf into the remote
or
try to flash the bios
