Hmm, that sounds bad, I suspect your projector may be using some sort of toggle/parity bit. If so, that means there are two different "on" commands (well, one command an a bit that changes) and the second press of the on/off button isn't recognized because the parity bit hasn't been switched.
If that is the case, you are out of luck. The only toggle bit codes that I'm aware of that work with a Pronto are Phillips own RC5 commands.
Sounds to me like your best hope at this point is to contact Epson and see if a replacement remote is available.

What happens if you try these two power codes? Power A (this is the same as Barry's code) 0000 0070 0000 0019 0024 000F 000C 0024 000C 000F 000C 000F 000C 0019 000C 000F 000C 002D 000C 000F 000C 000F 000C 0023 000C 0019 000C 0019 000C 0019 000C 0019 000C 0019 000C 000F 000C 000F 000C 000F 000C 000F 000C 000F 000C 0019 000C 0023 000C 0023 000C 000F 000C 0D38 Power B 0000 0070 0000 0019 0024 000F 000C 0024 000C 000F 000C 000F 000C 0019 000C 000F 000C 002D 000C 000F 000C 000F 000C 0023 000C 0019 000C 0019 000C 0019 000C 0019 000C 0019 000C 000F 000C 000F 000C 000F 000C 0019 000C 000F 000C 0019 000C 0023 000C 002D 000C 000F 000C 0D38

If the dirty code works, and my code's only sort of work, I must haved quessed the protocol wrong. I wonder if some sort of repeat is neccessary, and I overcleaned the codes? Let me think about it and see what I can come up with.
