If I remember correctly 1.05 had a fix for a timing bug that was part of some of the latter Prontos that caused them to constantly reboot. If you don't have that problem then 1.05 does not add anything to your Pronto.

I got the firmware update to work! I too received the same error message. I originally tried updating through ProntoEdit (PE)version 4.03 and it did not work.
My operating system is Windows XP Home Edition. I used the restore feature of XP to go back to a point before I installed PE version 4.03. I then used Jason3fc's idea and installed PE ver. 1.05 and chose the following:
Tools Update Pronto Selected "OK" to update to sys v3.62, app 4.85 I then chose the "Skip" button
WARNING, this will totally wipe out your configuration file!
I'd previously backed up my configuration file so hopefully I can reload it without too much trouble. However, I recently purchased some new equipment so I was going to re-program my Pronto anyway.
Hope this helps!

A few people are finding they can update the firmware in 1.05 but not PE4.
Some people are also finding that in PE4 they have to activate their Pronto first when downloading a CCF. Not sure if it also helps when doing a firmware upgrade.
