Jeff,

It'll work from the home panel, just not with learned codes. In order to get RF from the home panel you need to alias, either as a stand alone command or in a macro. Make sure system properties is set to RF.

Had the exact same problem and was almost ready to throw the Pronto out the window. DEFINATELY upgrade the firmware, it solved the problem for me, unfortunately I read your posts after I spent a week figuring that out for myself!
Thanks for the good advice and help in the past.

Thanks to all of the above. I was trying to use learned commands from the Home screen and I had not updated the Firmware. After those 2 fixes, the RF Extender now works well. Thanks again!

I am currently having a similar problem that Gipper had above. Since I'm not sure he was able to reconcile it, I need to revisit the issue. I am using an RC9200 to control a plasma panel, amplifier, DVD, and VCR. Everything works 100% in IR mode, but almost 0% in RF mode. Just the plasma panel turns on and doesn't change inputs. None of the other components respond at all. I have tried everything on this thread above with no luck. what's more, when I set the remote back into IR mode, the commands do not improve to their original functionality.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

One note to add here. I was programming a Marantz RC9200 to control a Parasound preamp to work in RF mode, and had a LOT of trouble trying to get it to work, much less work reliably. It would work so intermittently, I gave up called everyone I possibly knew. Including Parasound. IR codes for the Parasound AVC-1800 pre-amp DO NOT translate well from IR->RF->IR.

Parasound has confirmed this. If you have one of these devices, forget about trying to control it using RF.

I ended up using a Xantech Ir repeater, and it worked fantastically, even pointing the remote backwards!

So that's how I solved that problem.

I could use some help please. My old CCF worked fine with the Rx77 blaster (some devices IR and others RF). Now when I upgrade to ET1.3 my RF capability seems to be gone. There has been no change to the equipment or the blaster - only the CCF. Regardless of the setting of the System Properties or the Device Properties, I seem to be emitting only IR, not RF. Any ideas???
Thanks in advance.

EVERYTHING SEEMS TO WORK OK IN IR MODE AN THEN WHEN YOU CHANGE THE SETTINGS TO RF THE BUTTONS ARE WORKING OK WHEN THEY HAVE ASSIGNED A DIRECT FUNCTION ,BUT IF YOU HAVE A SET OF COMMANDS IT'S ONLY DOING THE FIRST ONE AND SOMETIMES NEITHER ONE
ANY SUGGESTIONS ?
THANK'S GEORGE

George,

If you have a macro, and only some of the commands are working in RF mode, it's probably a case of where your source codes are located. Are you aware that the device containing any code that you alias to must be set to RF? Not the device where the macro button is located, the device the alias points to.
