Apologies in advance if I've missed a faq or something, I did read the page on inserting batteries it didn't seem to help. I've just purchased a new rc5000 but when I insert the battery pack I just get vertical lines. With standard AA's I can get it to start sometimes but if I move the unit at all it goes back to vertical lines or I get a mixture of "shimmering" vertical lines and the start screen. I have cleaned the contacts on both the remote and the battery pack to no avail. A couple of times I have gotten it to start properly but it only lasts about 30 seconds before going back to a blank screen with black vertical lines. It's obviously a contact issue but at this point I'm thinking that even if I get this unit to work I will be constantly afraid of picking it up or moving it. Frankly putting batteries in should not be a weekend project. I'm trying everything the dealer has told me to do (clean contacts, scratch contacts, reset, charge twelve hours then clean contacts etc. etc. etc.)with no results. Adjusting contrast does not do it either except it makes my black lines sharper(-: Has anyone else seen this? I'm starting to lose faith I really want to love this remote. Thanks in advance.
