I've had my TSU1000 for about 6 months now and have always had problems with it rebooting. I've tried all the suggestions I could find on this forum, but nothing worked. I finally gave up and decided to just live with it. But about three weeks ago I decided to switch to Maxell NIMH rechargeables and miraculously the rebooting problem went away. I noticed the Maxells are a little different size than standard AA's so I thought maybe it was a battery contact issue. But to my extreme disapointment, after three weeks of zero reboots, the problem returned. I took off the battery compartment door to examine the fit of the batteries. I tried to make the Pronto reboot by spinning the batteries and moving them back and forth but could not cause it to reboot. Then I tried tapping on them and as I was doing this, I noticed a bright flash from the compartment. A couple more taps and a spark later, one of the Maxells literally caught fire. Maybe I caused some sort of short, but I wasn't tapping that hard and now I'm worried if I accidentally bump the Pronto against something, it may really go up in flames. Has anyone ever heard of this happening?
