I had a working IR system but the Fujitsu Plasma panel was screaming so much IR interfierence that it was causing IR commands to repeat. Things like the volume on the IR reciever going to the max and channel up or down on the Sat reciever would advance 50 channels instead of just one.

I figured the RF module was the way too go. It cured the repeating problem but basic control got very intermittent. Things like turning on or off the reciever and the plasma panel would work half the time and half the time wouldn't.

I tried changing frequencies, moving emitters and everything else I could think of. After an hour and a half I gave up.

I went back to IR and ordered one of those "Plasma friendly " IR systems from Audioplex.

I'll keep you posted but would appreciate any comments.

Thanks

Steve

Steve,

That's an odd problem. I never noticed any problems using the ProntoPro/RFX-6000 with my plasma.

An update.......installed the Audioplex Plasma friendly IR and it still showed evidence if IR interference (the talk back led still blinks on its own)but it did cure the IR repeating problem.

Apparently the Fujistu PDS4233 was not designed as a consumer product(its analog) and it has really crappy sheilding.

Looks really good on analog sources ala DTV etc.

Maybe it was leaking RF also.

Steve,

Now I think I understand. If the red LED light on the RX-77 is flashing, that means it's receiving RF. This would indeed be RF interference from your plasma set (or at least some other source).
