Recently when I update some parts of my RC 5000 design, eventhough it works on the emulator it crashes in teh remote. What happenes is I hit a key, it freezes and when I hit the next button the system crashes and reverts. Any ideas? Is it the remote? Thanks.

Jeff,

I doubt it's the remote. The first thing to try is to redownload the ccf (may have become corrupt). If this doesn't work, download the previous version of your ccf (you still have a copy I hope). If this also causes crashes, reflash the firmware (make sure you have the latest version).

I have tried previous cff and they work, it only happens with specific commands. If I don't hit those buttons it is fine. 90% of teh stuff works fine, it is just some new additions crash the system and like I said it works fine in the emulator. thanks.

The emulator uses your PC's CPU. I would assume it is a computational problem. does it crash on a jump? (is there something special with the panel it is jumping too, like a lot of frames buttons).
Is it a button with a learnt IR? (it could be a bad leant code, try relearning)
Is it a button with aliases? (do the aliased buttons work? if yes try recreating the alias list)

I just check, they are all jumps to graphic intensive pages. Would that be what is causing it? Any idea how to stop that from happening? Could it have something to do with teh fact I have 11% free space? Thanks

make a copy of the CCF and try simplifying the panel. (get rid of some stuff) if it works try and make some slightly simpler panels (like getting rid of unused frames)

Thanks. I tried that, it did not work. I noticed that it only happens on buttons that are programed as Jumps.

Have you updated your RC5000's firmware lately?
