I am interested in making a jog/shuttle bar for the transport screen of my Panasonic RP-56. I was able to find direct access to the FF/RR speeds of my Toshiba 5109, but haven't found anything yet for the Panasonic. Do these even exist? If so, where might I be able to find them? Thank you in advance!!

I'm sorry but I can't help since I'm not very far along with my RP-56 codes. I wonder if you have found discrete ON and discrete OFF codes that work reliably together? When I use the OFF code I have from the RP91, the next time I turn on the unit, it is "locked" in the "close" mode. Very reproducible and annoying. Any help appreciated. PlasMAN

Sorry. I haven't even started to program for it yet. We are in the process of moving and I had exactly one hour to try out the new player before packing it up. I was hoping to use the "free" time I had to start programming the new screens. I plan on avoiding the discrete on/off due to the problems mentioned here with the Panny.

Do a search for RP56 and u will find a post about those on/off codes. Use the last set There are no discrete codes for the 56 and any u use will do both on and off. There are no problems with those codes and why your 56 freezes may be a problem with that player not the codes

Thanks! I'll try the last set in the thread from last week. But why does that set contain an ON code and an OFF code if they are not discrete (why do I need 2 codes if both do ON/OFF as you say)? Also, in that thread, they DO describe the same door closed "hang" if the generic DVD Panasonic OFF code was last used. It is not unique to my player apparently and others have experience the same thing. So there is something unique in the RP56 that doesn't like the old tried and true Panasonic codes. I'll keep trying. Appreciate the help. PlasMAN

Does anybody know if the Panasonic line has direct access to the different FF/RR speeds? Thank you.

If you use the last set of codes it should not happen. I think I have tried the second set and last set and have not had any problems with either

As far as the on/off why if same code good ? just use the one for both. There arent any dicretes so just live with it and if you have to do a work around

There is a discrete code for the ON command, none for the OFF command. To turn the whole system off my macro first sends the discrete on command then the general toggle command, so I am certain the DVD player is off.

Someone has posted a great CCF file for Panasonic devices that contain (I guess) all the valid IR codes for DVD/VCR/TV. I was able to locate all the functions on my Panasonic DVD player, including the "shuttle" like FF/RWD discrete codes that are not supported by my regular remote control.

You can find it in the files section under "Other Files" and "IR Collections"

Hope it works for you as well.

Here's the Direct link:
Panasonic Raw Codes
(SCROLL DOWN)

A word of caution: Some of these codes could put your device into a Diagnostic Mode, or reset it to Factory Defaults, or even into a "Hotel" mode.
