If this has been answered I am sorry, I couldn't find it...
I have created a macro to startup and shutdown my system. The problem is that to turn off my projector (a NEC VT540) you have to hold the power button on the remote for 3 seconds.
How do I get a macro to do this? It just flashes all the transmit codes really quickly, I can't figure out how to get it to transmit one code for a specified length of time.
Thanks

Check the FAQ (link at bottom of this page), it's in there and basically involves repeating the code maaaany times.

On my NEC projector you could change the off in the setup, from long off to a confirmation message. By switching it to the confirmation message all you need is off and enter. I don't think Jim's suggestion will help (no offense Jim) but the NEC code does not use a repeat sequence that matches the initial code. If your Projector does not have that function paste the off code and I will try and help

No offense Anthony . . . but it probably will work if you follow the instructions in the FAQ detailing the "Duck Blind" method of learning codes. What this does is teach your Pronto the Beginning, Middle & End of a code as seperate codes. You then repeat the middle section of the code as many times as necessary to get the length of transmission you need. And as stated . . . it can be maaaannnnny repetitions.
However, if he has the ability to switch preferences as you state, that certainly would be the easire route to take.

No offense Mike, but I'm offended by all the mis-spelling you've been doing lately. Check out www.hookedonphonics.com and you will probably be a spelling wizard in no time! CLICK MELOL LOL JJP This message was edited by John Pechulis on 02/10/02 16:23.25.
