I have an interesting problem that only affects one component (TOAD of course). Using the Pronto I want to control my digital cable box provided by my cable operator (I believe that it is a kenwood device). Anyway, I can get the codes from the remote into the Pronto without any problems.

the problem is that when I try to control the device I have to hold the Pronto in a specific direction (towards the ceiling and to the right of the equipment.) All of the equipment is located in the same location and all other items (DVD Player, Tuner, CD Player, VCR, and Computer) work 100% fine.

Do any of you have any ideas what might be causing the problem? When I utilize the provided remote it appears to work 95% without any problems (sometimes it doesn't work unless I hold the button down for a short while).

Does this sound like a device problem or could the device simply be utilizing a frequency that the Pronto just simply doesn't work well with?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I would try relearning the codes.
