I leave my ProntoPro on the charger. After an evening of charging, I pick it up. It is dark. I get the "please wait" signal, and ultimately it reboots.

This is new. The ProntoPro would simply be on before, constantly. Lately, even from just resting on a table, with no usage requiring recharging, it needs to go back on the charger . . .and then it reboots.

Anyone?

A bad battery? A defective unit? I'd give Philips a call and see what they have to say. 888-486-6272.

I'd try downloading a fresh copy of the firmware.

Nicholas...

I disagree with Randy on this. Your "first line of defense" should be the dealer and the dealer should not just pass you off to Philips. I had one I sold just like what you are describing and I immediately sent an advance replacement to the customer.

When I received the errant unit back, I wanted to find out what the unusual problem was. If I would take the battery out for a couple of days and then I put it back in, it would start working properly again. Inside of a day or two, it would start exhibitanting the same symptoms. It would always kick in when, as you noted, going from dark.

After doing that about three times, it started working fine again and I could not make this happen. However, I, of course returned it to my supplier as should you.

I would add that I did what Peter suggested, actually twice, and reflashed the firmware with, at the time, 3.3.0. The Pro itself was sys 1.2 app 1.2 when delivered and sys 1.2 app 1.3 after flashing. I also reverted etc et al, so the above is a shortened version of what I actually went through in the office. Since I wanted to gain knowledge to help others in the future.
