I just recently purchased a Pronto 2000. I love it just about got it all setup, but the time it takes to turn on after it has been sitting is between 30-60 secs. Is there any way to lessen iy oe change it.

What do you mean by turn on?

When you tap the screen, it should display just about instantly.

Basically if I let it sit for 5 min (approx) then when I tap the screen it waits 15 sec beeps once and then another 15 sec later it beep ewice and then I can use it. but if I put it down for say 2 min when nI tap the screen it powers up automatically. any help is appreciated.

First beep sounds like it is "crashing". The later double-beep is the "finished rebooting" tone. I'd like to see what the output is when connected to a computer...

Good call Daniel , sounds like a reboot to me.
brutherb , do a search on [Link: remotecentral.com]
using "pronto reboots on its own , pronto constantly reboots , hyper terminal " it will give you info on what's going on and hyper terminal which will let you
communicate with your pronto and see its output . Then paste it here .
I just thought of something else , check your battery connections , seating if AA's or contact connections if
you use the recharge pack (ds 1000).
