well, got my ts-1000 last night and the freaking backlight does not work on the touch screen.!!! the backlight on the hard buttons work fine but not the screen. Well I guess I am off to ebay to buy another one.

Have you checked the 'backlight turn off' delay?

Feel like taking it apart? If it's ever been dropped, the inductor L1 could have been broken off or damaged. It requires a little skill to replace, but it's a lot cheaper than a new Pronto. Do a search for 'L1' or 'inductor' and you'll probably find detailed instructions on how to replace it.

WHERE DO YOU FIND THE BACKLIGHT TURN OFF DELAY. THE BACKLIGHT DOES WORK ON THE HARD BUTTONS. WHICH WAY DO I NEED TO ADJUST IT SO THE BACKLIGHT WILL COME ON ALL THE TIME. tHANKS!!
