Well, my 10 year old dropped the RC5000 on a hardwood floor (he feels bad about it). Now, I can see none of the icons/buttons etc. The backlight works and the remote still sends commands but I am afraid I have to replace the screen. I do not see any visable crack in the screen but I have tried everything I can think of to revive the remote. I have reset and reloaded but no dice. I guess this means replacing the screen right?
I've read the threads about the $40 screen you can order. Is that still the way to go? My wife will not be happy with a $150 repair bill for this remote.

Charles...I believe there was a post in here from a fellow in the UK who figured a way to buy the parts to replace the screen for around $40.00 and then subsequently posted the sourcing of the parts as well as the step by step complete with pictures on how to do. -Bruce alpha2data on eBay
