I don't currently have the RF extender so this may be a silly question, but is it possible to use the extender to change an original RF remote into IR codes that the Pro can then learn (directly from the extenders IR eye}? Then by changing the IR codes to RF on the Pronto itself, the original RF remotes functions should work directly on the RF equipment - Right?

No - the RF Extender only allows a second base unit (the RFX 6000 itself) to transmit the IR codes. I don't think anyone has gotten a ProntoPro to control any RF devices.
