Hello all! I have had the Pronto TS1000/01 for almost two years. I have had no problems whatsoever .. until now. One day, the Pronto just stopped working. I thought it might be the NiMH Rechargeable battery so I took it out and then cleaned the contacts and put it back. The Pronto started up like normal but after the timer to turn off the elapsed, the unit would not turn back on. I then replaced the NiMH battery with four AAs. Same problem, starts up then dies after the allotted time. I came here and found that maybe if I left the battery out for 8+ hours it would fix itself. Well I left it out and un-used the remote for four days. Same problem when I returned. I then resetted ( keeping the unit on initially after the first boot up ) and re-loaded the current fireware. No problems there .. even updated the CCF. And still the same problem. I have tried everything but scolding the Pronto.

Can anyone tell me where I can send my Pronto to be serviced? Ideas that I havent tried? ... Thanks

You can call Philips customer service, but ask about repair price. It might be more cost effective to replace with a J&R refurb (don't know if they have them in stock). Last I heard they were selling them for $129 if you mention you saw that price in their flier. They come with a 1 yr warantee.

Have you tried a different CCF. Yours could have a problem.

I have .. but the problem would have surfaced almost immediately not after 18 months of using the same CCF
