I just purchased a Pronto 1000 from J and R. I paid 149.99 for it. I believe this is a good deal, but it is a refurb unit but it does have a 1 year warranty. What are some things I need to do to it to tweek it up? I it worth 80.00 for the recharging dock? Thanks

$80 is a bit steep, but when the prices come back down, get one . . . you won't regret it.

STOP YELLING ! ! ! !

No, you don't "need" the Dock, but it certainly takes away the fuss & bother of remembering to buy & replace &/0r recharge batteries all the time.

How hard it is to create a CCF depends a lot on your abilities & patience and a lot on the devices you have (whether or not they have discrete codes). AND how detailed a GUI you want.

The 1000 does not have INTERNAL UDB Codes, but there are a plethora of CCFs available free for the downloading here on Remote Central.

Take some time and read the links in the box I posted above, they will help get you organized and on your way up the learning curve.
