Can anyone help? I'm only a beginner at this, but how, in plain English, do I create, say a picture in "Coreldraw 6" of a television, and make this into a working icon for the "Home" in my pronto, as other people have, in the form of ccf files?
I'd be VERY greatfull as I would like to personilize my pronto myself, instead of using other peoples ideas.

Can't tell you how to use Corel Draw, but anything you create needs to be saved as a maximum of a 256 color (8-bit) .bmp file in order to loadable into the software.

Hope that helps,

Very sorry Jim, how do I save it as this type of file? I'm afraid I am not all that computer literate yet, but there's hope for me yet! I would assume I go to file, save as?

I don't own Corel Draw, but if it's like most programs, use "save as" and select .bmp file. As far as 256 colors are concerned I really don't know.

It would probably be a lot easier if you copied a suitable graphic from an existing CCF.

you must remember where you have saved the file. When you open prontoedit and click on the panel in the left window you should get a frame in the right window. Select the button that you want to change by clicking on it. It will now have a red border around it. Right mouse click and go to properties and left click. The click on the the inactive tab, you will now have a dialogue box with selected and unselected.

This is where forward planning comes into play.....
If you only save the picture then you have the same picture when the button is selected or unselected, if you make a slight change with the original bitmap, change the depth of colour or the background can change from light to dark you can then see at a glance that the button is selected. So back to where we were...

Click the load button, that will bring up an open dialogue box, navigate to where you saved both bitmaps (remember selected and unselected) and highlight the bitmap and then open it. Prontoedit will import the bitmapped file into the Button properties dialogue box.

Click load, and the picture will show in your panel.

I can safely say that the bitmapped file will be either to big or to small and will have to be resized in corel. This is where you have to either get a book on corel draw or take a course as it is very long and involved.

Have fun!

Thanks, I'm well on the way to creating my own bitmaps now! At last! Tell me anyone, in pronto edit, can one change a home icon that has been downloaded, into ones own icon, without losing any of the data linked with that particular button, i.e aliases,ir codes etc?

Dave,

You can change any icon on a button without losing aliases etc. You can even "drag" an icon from one button to another by holding the "alt" key - then drag and drop. If you're asking about the home icon specifically - it can be changed under system properties.
