Macro Assignment to Template Buttons?

Just got my Pronto. Within 10 minutes, I had all the basic functionality programmed in from 7 different remotes. Nice interface.

I do have one problem though. I would like to be able to access predefined macros from template buttons. I did not see anything in the manual which shows how to do this. The macros appear to be only accessible from the macro drop-down. Is this possible now? Will it be with Pronto Edit? Do I still have to teach the significant other how to move around between devices?

I already have macros set up for "task" type navigation for her. I would like to be able to assign these macros directly to the main screen for ease of use by all.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Bryan,

Don't think this can be done with the on screen interface, however, ProntoEdit should be able to meet your requirements, no problem.
Consider also that any button can run a macro and then jump to any other menu.
As posted elsewhere, I suggest everyone does the basics prior to having ProntoEdit, then does all the enhancements via ProntoEdit which makes them far easier to complete.
One thing that hasn't been discussed much here which I know everyone will find very useful is the "Emulate" feature which pops a full size functioning Pronto onto your screen so you can "test" and "see" your work prior to loading into Pronto. Of course you can also "upload" from Pronto and manipulate the same way.
I hope this answers your question.

I had read about the ability for any button to run a macro. That is exactly what I am trying to accomplish. Just haven't figured it out yet. Specifically, how is this accomplished or is that too only with Pronto Edit?

Bryan,
Yep. The answer is in ProntoEdit.
I think that for simplicity sake, as it's a bit difficult to keep track of everything in the on screen system this was left for ProntoEdit to perform, which is does, no problem.
It shouldn't be long now for ProntoEdit as CES is only 2 weeks away.
Kepp watching for the actual software release to be posted. You'll also see by some other postings that since the beta testing, ProntoEdit has been improved so the release will have even more power.
