Hey Folks,

As the title implies I am looking for a Discreet code
for the Input Source selector EG: SVID1,SVID2,AUX,ETC

I downloaded the hex codes for On and Off and they
work marvelously (this will make my macro work much
better) but now I need that discreet code so that when
you hit "watch a DVD" it automaticly goes to SVID2 each
time rather than jump around depending on the last source
it was switched to.

Anyone have any idea? I am going to look over my factory
remote and see if it has anything under the "DVD" button
that may be discreet but I have my doubts!

Well I can say that the RCA TV most definatly DOES use
Discreet codes for source input switching. The factory
remote has a "DVD" button that has a Discreet code to
switch to VID2... Problem is... I am using VID1 and I
can not find any button that switches it over to VID1
Grr... VID2 is Component input when I am using SVideo.

Typical! (I should be using Component anyway but I don't
feel like buying the cables at the moment!)

I have to dig out my original TV documentation and see
if I can set the DVD button to go default to the SVID1
instead of VID2. If I can I will make the Discreet Code
available for download.. If not I still would appreciate
any and all help from you.

Ok Folks,

I found a discreet workaround for the input selection.

By going into the TV's Setup it asks you "Use This TV
with a DVD?" you get to select the input source, in
which case I had the wrong input selected so I changed
it over to VID1 so now when you hit the DVD button on
the factory remote this sends a discreet code for "DVD"
which automaticaly selects the right input.

Here is the hex code for the "DVD" button which is discreet.

I'm guessing that you also have some sort of a "surf input" button that sequentially rotates through your inputs?

If so, use the DVD/SVID1 Buton to get you to a known state, then "surf" to SVID2 with a series of aliases to the "surf" button to get you where you want to go. You will probably need a delay between each alias to the same device.

Mr.Klaatu,

Yep the Who*Input systematicaly rotates through the
source inputs, the DVD button Discreetly goes to whatever
source you select in the setup (and never to another
source)

That worked perfectly...

Kevin,

I may try that in the morning but as of the moment my
pronto battery is deado and I have to let it get some
sleep. Hmmm Sleep, that may not be a bad idea considering
I have to work tomorrow...

Thanks fellas!
