First, Excuse my ignorance. I am very new to this Pronto Pro, and am struggling with the Pronto Edit. OHhhhh..How I wish there was a "ProntoEdit For Dummies!"
After quite a few hours of trying to convince my 'puter to communicate with my Pronto..I won. Well, in haste I downloaded Daniel's file. After the fact, I wondered if I should've saved the "original factory settings" to a disc. When I tried to "revert", I found this button inactive now. So I guess all the original setting are gone? Is this right? Can I somehow get them back?
Again..I am really struggling with this thing. Which I hate to be frustrated over such an exciting HT tool!!! After the Daniel download, I tried to get the unit to learn Yamaha commands..but kept getting "Timed Out"!
Any advice on becoming more knowledgable with the software would be greatly appreciated...I hate to have to ask questions too much....but have received great help so far!
Thank you all tremendously in advance!!!

Darren; Anyone who answers a question here is your own personal "ProntoEdit Dummie"!! (WAIT! . . . that didn't come out right!)Aw, shoot-doggit! . . . maybe we are! Anyways - sorry-to-say that I can't help you specifically with ProntoPro Problems, but I should think that somewhere in the ProntoPro folder there should be a DEFAULT.CCF, I know there is in any other "Edit" version. Take a look in Windows Explorer . . . should be there somewhere. Do a 'FIND' from the start button using 'DEFAULT.CCF' ( . . . and don't worry about "losing it", most of us here did that long ago) MIKE (ps; How's Sam & Tabitha)? This message was edited by MrKlaatu on 12/24/01 01:53.03.

The original factory settings are contained in the file "default.ccf" which is located in the "samples' sub-directory. You download that to the Pronto and your unit is fresh from the box again. Of course, if you had learned any devices to it using the UDB, they are gone, and you have to do that again.
As far as timing out when learning the codes, just keep repeating until the Pronto gets it right. Some buttons take awhile, and there is a certain trial and error in getting the distance between the Pronto and the original remote right, the lighting, etc. If you do a search on "learning" you will see a variety of suggestions, and it varies according to your remotes, battery status, ambient lighting, etc.
