I just got a Pronto 2000, and I'm trying to learn as much as I can about the ProntoEdit software, but the program doesn't seem to be very user-friendly. any suggestions on where to get some basic instructions on the program? Thanks

The program is actually very user-friendly, once you pick up the basics, which doesn't take long. Like any software, there is a learning curve. This one is shorter than average, as the program is not very complex. The written materials that come with it could be a little more descriptive, to be sure, but this site, the FAQs and this forum, bridge that gap nicely.

Yes, the prontoedit software is hideous. The UI is suck. The methods are suck. It really needs several upgrades. However, we're stuck with it, and Philips doesn't make a dime off making it better so just accept that fact that it's lousy and move on.

I would suggest checking out [Link: barenada.com] - print all the pages out and curl up with 'em one evening. He's got some interesting tips and pointers, and you get the chance to follow along as his CCF evolves.

Once you've resigned yourself to being frustrated at every turn, you can stand back and see the interface as simply an obstacle to your final goal. And it is surmountable, it's just a bit more difficult than it needs to be. Revel in the challenge :-)
