I have been the proud parent of a Pronto (TSU2000) for about a year now.

Picked up my Pronto this morning and to my surprise it no longer sent IR to any of my devices. The menu and display system works great (still has my CCF) but it won't actually DO anything.

My hopes were dashed as I tried resetting, reloading and reflashing with no luck.

Things got really bad when I realized my precious Pronto won't even learn any more either ...

Anyone seen this before? Any advice? Anyone had to get their devices serviced before? Anyone have any tissue? (I'm taking this pretty hard)

Thanks in advance,
Mike

I think the key words may be "about a year". If it's less, last year's Christmas present perhaps, call Philips before it's too late.

Good news and bad news:

Bad news is that the IR emitter(s) seems to be malfunctioning and won't wake up.

Good news is that it is (just barely!) LESS than a year old, so Phillips is replacing it for me. Spoke with a super nice and knowledgeble phone rep (Phil) who ran me through some basic tests and officially pronounced it dead.

They will mail me out a replacement as soon as they receive mine.

Overall, I am pleased. Well, except for the fact that my Pronto's IR system just died one night. (Was not dropped and was not in the charging cradle.) Weird.

Thanks,
Mike

Double check with the support person on the "as soon as they receive mine" part, since as I understand it, they will mail the replacement as soon as you give them a UPS tracking number for the one you sent back.

Of course if you are mailing yours, that may not be the way they do it, but you can use the delivery confirmation option with USPS for 40-cents that I think may now provide confirmation of shipment.
