Is there anyway to make a device totally invisible to the Pronto? I want to create an alias page for my preamp, but yet not have it show as a device.

I'm kinda new to this, but how 'bout just making it a hidden panel under some other existing device. That way, it won't show in the device list and one wouldn't be able to scroll to it in whatever device it's attached.

Yeah, that would work, but I like to keep it structured in the editor. Easier to edit your gear later if you upgrade.

But if that's the only way. so be it.

In my CCF, I have only One "Virtual" Device (in reality I have 7 diferent devices). All Panels are hidden. They are labeled as TV1, TV2, DVD, X-10, Switch, etc . . . each Panel for each Device starts out with that designation (ie; TV1 - Main, DVD - X-Port, VCR2 - Codes, etc).

This way I don't have any Scroll Arrows -AND- I don't have anything "recognizeable" in the Device Drop-down. My Device Name is a 'period', which shows up on the Pronto Device List as a small box with an X in it.

All Panels/Buttons either jump you to where you want/need to go to next or don't jump at all, as the case may be.

There are three Tabs across the top of each Panel:
1) WATCH - which allows you to switch between devices depending on what you want to do. These are the Workhorse Panels, they do all the Power ON/Off, Input Switching, etc). Very important here to start off in a KNOWN STATE.
2) ACTUAL DEVICE NAME - which lets you switch between each Panel within the device you are using at the moment.
3) CONTROLS - which lets you go to any other device's Main Panel, in case you are "doing 2 things at once" and need to temporarily switch to another device's controls.

Sounds complicated, but works very smoothly, despite having a Toshiba DVD (TOAD).

I like the quick change with the device drop down. I alias those to the same funcitons as my home page. I just want to hide the preamp switcher functions as these are invisible functions to the user. I guess I'll just make them a hidden page in one of the devices.

Matt: you can group them all under home, or create a device with a space as a name and have it as the last thing on the device side (or a macro group on the macro side)
