Tried using the above jumps on the RCEdit software, and they don't move the devices up OR down, or for that matter, seem to do anything else? Am I missing something, or is this yet another bug in the current RCEdit software??

drhb,

I believe, but am not totally certain, that this is to enable you to scroll up and down pages w/i a device. If all your panels are hidden, nothing will happen.

If all your panels are Hidden, you won't even HAVE scroll buttons. However, if there is only ONE page in a device (and it's not hidden), they will be there, but there will be no-place to scroll to, other than itself! So it will look like it isn't doing anything - but causing you consternation about them not doing anything!

Thanks guys...I realize I misconstued the purpose of the scroll; all of my pages are indeed hidden, and thus no response to the page up or down. I had thought that the scroll is to move from one device to the next, as in when you use the scroll arrows.

Now I'm a bit confused . . .

If all of your Panels are hidden, you shouldn't even HAVE any Scroll Arrows!!??

The scroll arrows move from one device to the next; that is how one moves among the device names on the right side of the remote; ie the device dropdown list.

I just realized that you still can access panels if they are hidden, it is just that you don't see more than one panel per device, and access them via the device dropdown.

So why doesn't the pageup or pagedown do the same thing??

Ahhhhhhh!!!! Now I see where my confusion was coming from - I haven't had ANY kind of arrows on my Pronto in so long, I forgot that there are two different "types" that use the same graphic in the same place!

(In my CCF I have only ONE Device with ALL Hidden Panels).

Help - Hidden pages

The DEVICE Scroll Arrows only come into play when you have more Devices than can be shown in the Drop Down List at one time. When you choose a Device it will default to the last used Panel for that Device if all Panels for that Device are Hidden, otherwise it goes to the first UN-Hidden Panel for that Device.

The Panel Scroll Arrows are per-Device, in that any Device that has at least ONE UN-Hidden Panel will have Scroll Arrows. This allows you to scroll amongst the differing Panels FOR THAT DEVICE. When you select another Device it will go to that Device's first UN-Hidden Panel or to the last Hidden Panel used for this new Device.

Mike: I'm pretty sure Harris is talking about "jumps" and having the hard buttons labeled "scroll up" and "scroll down". If all panels are hidden the hard button labels will still be there and the buttons have no effect, even though the scroll arrows won't be visible.

Harris: I think you got it figured out, but if all you panels are hidden there is absolutely no utility to using scroll up or scroll down. These don't jump between devices, just panels within a device and only those panels which aren't hidden.

Jim L

Mike, thanks for the response, but I was referring PRECISELY to what Jim noted...
Appreciate the clarification,

Best, Harris

Mike, Why do you only have one device?

It keeps "other" people within the flow of my CCF. With TOADS you don't want to get out of sequence in your work-arounds, if at all possible.

And it  is  still possible to do so in my CCF, but keeping anything extra off of the Device List keeps meddlesome fingers from exploring too much.
