I dropped my Pronto and also lost the backlight. Replaced the L1 inductor from CoilCraft without any surprises thanks to previous threads HOWEVER when activating the backlight the screen will become filled with random pixels and the Pronto will reboot within about 10 seconds. It looks suspiciously like there is a shorted capacitor dragging the CPU voltage down and crashing it. Has anybody survived this additional symptom of a broken L1 inductor coil from a Pronto drop onto a hard floor? Without the L1 in circuit the remote seems to work fine.
