The already noted memory size error in the RCEdit software cannot be corrected via changing the registry to reflect a 1404 size. Even after doing this, the software continues to show a smaller percentage of available memory for the same ccf (in my case, 57% v. 62% on the 5000i). Previous posts noted that despite changing the size in the registry, it changes back to the smaller size; this does not appear to be the case. The registry changes remain the same, but the software continues to reflect a smaller, incorrect available memory percentage.

Any comments on this???

I can't really offer anything on the memory problem. I was wondering though, did you get any responses from Marantz on your screen activation issue? Does your touchscreen backlight activate when you touch it? Someone in another thread, can't remember which one, said theirs does. I believe you previously posted that your 5200 backlight won't come on when you touch the screen.

Hi Jim,
Haven't heard anything yet, but perhaps they are indeed working on the problem. Then again, the software was supposed to be updated by "mid Dec." according to the download site, but it is well past that time and still no update. One wonders about the seriousness or lack of such, by those responsible for the software.

As noted, we are dealing with either a software and/or firmware problem, but if there is no correction forthcoming, Marantz may well lose future sales due to the lack of adequate followup.
