I borrowed a Pronto from a friend so I could cownload some descrete codes and load them into my Marantz RC2000. I got the code sets downloaded from Remote Central into my computer (I think). But I can't figure out how to move them into the Pronto Edit software so I can download them into the Pronto itself. I'm a computer idiot and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Assuming you are using prontoEdit V2, yu need to enable Developer mode. See the FAQ for details.

I'm curious why you are going through a Pronto/ProntoEdit?
Why not use RCEdit and do away with the middleman?

It is an RC2000 not RC5000. Presumably he is going to get the 2000 to learn from the Pronto.

My remote is the RC2000 Mark II which has no computer hookup capabilities. Thanks for the reply though.

No computer hookup? Considering that the whole concept is you create a CCF on a computer, and then download it to the remote through a cable from your computer to the remote, I'd say you have a problem.

Peter is the only one who is "getting it"....

John is trying to program this borrowed Pronto with discrete codes for his equipment and then teach his RC2000 those codes tranmitted by the Pronto using the RC2000's I/R learn function....

John, This should be easy.

Read the FAQ.

The RC2000 is a PB learning remote, it is not one on of the remotes in the Pronto Family. He is using his friends Pronto to teach the RC2000

Oh, if all he wants to do is use the Pronto to teach codes to a learning universal remote, that he can do. I thought he wanted to import a CCF into the Marantz.

John.

There was lots of discussion, but I'm not sure that anyone acutally alswered your question.

What you want to do is basicaly create a single panel for your equipment with the buttons with discreet coes on it.
You the connect the SERIAL cable to your PC (9 pin D plug) connect the other end to the Pronto (walkman-type plug).
In ProntoEdit click on the DOWNLOAD INTO PRONTO button. This is the 11th button on the toolbar and looks like a small pront with a yellow arrow pointint to the RIGHT.

After that you just need to click on the device containing your panel, select the panel and go through the code-learning routing on your MKII.

Good luck.
