I know that this is going to sound weird, but searches haven't turned up stuff in past threads, so here goes:
I was downloading a CCF file today, and after rebooting, the 5000i goes into the infamous spontaneous reboot loop. I started up Hyperterminal per the FAQ, and about 10% of the characters on the screen scrolling by are garbage. I connect the 5000i to the serial port an another PC, everything looks fine and I'm able to do a CCF download manually just fine. The 5000i seems back to normal.
Then I go back to the first PC and now RC-Setup can no longer communicate with the unit at all, not even for a firmware reload. I return to the 2nd PC to try RC-Setup there and it works perfectly.
Does ANYONE have a clue as to what I'm seeing? I've been using RC-Setup on this PC (WinXP, by the way) with no problems at all for months now. The serial ports themselves are fine, I've tested them with other applications.
Any ideas???? Even strange ones are welcome!
Thanks!!!!

The first thing I'd do is reinstall the software.

Did you reboot and power off your PC. Your serial port could be in a knot.
