Plus, you've got to come up with a better thread title.

"Cracking" has a negative internet connotation. Sounds like you're giving tips on how to crack Daniel's CCF.

"Cracking" is a perfectly good word to describe the CCF.

I know that there is no copy protection on a CCF, I was just saying that the word cracking SOUNDED like you were hacking or removing copy protection, copy rights, whatever.

Mango, how do you mean 'cracking' is a perfectly good word to describe a CCF? I don't understand the context, what does that mean to you?

I am not criticizing, I just don't know what you mean by that.

Well here in Blighty, if you're a toff, "cracking" means fab/great/good etc.

No offence taken. I don't like to conform to the "International" way of speaking!

You selection of adjectives is outstanding and superfluous to say the very least.

I was not aware however that 'cracking' had such a meaning.

To take the word 'cracking' out of the context of computer fraud (to sum it up) My understanding of 'cracking', which is chiefly British, is to: Get moving, make haste, hotfoot it, set about, set out, etc...

Non of these are related to Fabulous, great, etc..

I on the other hand do not mind conforming to the 'international' way of speaking, or loose slang, for the most part. Knowing that I have the capacity to keep up with the conversation in most settings gives me a deal of pride.

On that note, I bow out :) this was not intended as a formal conversation of modern english, I was just wondering what your meaning of 'cracking' was so that I may understand your post better.
