I posted this originally on the X10 forum. A reader suggested I also post here.

I recently purchased an IR543. I've been succesfully programming and using my pronto for a year plus.

I downloaded 5 different ccfs for the Pronto for controlling the IR543. The IR543 manual buttons work fine for controlling 3 different X-10 light modules. The ccfs, when loaded into the pronto do nothing. The activity light on the IR543 never illuminates.

I took my IR543 and pronto over to the house of an acquaintance. His pronto and his IR543 worked perfectly together. He then used his pronto with my IR543. This worked perfectly. My pronto still would not do anything. His Pronto is a model 2000.

My pronto is a TS-1000. So I attempted to load his ccf used to contol his Pronto 2000 into my 1.05 Pronto Edit. This caused the Pronto 1.05 to crash.

So I installed Pronto Edit 2.0; loaded his ccf and carefully copied his IR codes into my Pronto 1.05 Edit ccf. Still my Pronto would not activate the IR543 activity light. All other control functions work well with my pronto (there are dozens of these functions which control HDTV, receiver, amp, DVD and VCR.)

I have downloaded into my Pronto, one by one, the 5 different ccfs downloaded from RC, and each time I am unable to see any activity light on the IR543 with any of these ccfs. I have viewed the IR codes in each. There are some differences, but there are differences in exactly how each ccf is set up.

I am completely stumped. I don't know what to try next!

Any suggestions!

Get him to save his file in PE 2.0 as "old format" and send it to you. Then try it.

the CCF on my website contains the IR543 codes that will work on your T1000.

Try opening Pratt's CCF in 2.0, save as older, open in 1.05 and then transfer into your Pronto.

Maybe you've tried it this way, but then again, I know that I often THINK I have done something, I'm Absolutely Positive that I have. But in the end realize in all the muss & confusion, that I hadn't, after all.

Barring that, un-install both ProntoEdits and re-install . . . it's worth a shot!
