I need to reinstall Prontoedit for my Pronto 1000. The philip site says that Prontoedit only for the Pronto 2000. Since these are essentially the same remotes, do they really mean ONLY the 2000, or are they trying to say "don't use this for the Pro or Neo?"

You most certainly don't want to do that. As stated in the files area here: "ProntoEdit v2.0 is only for use with the TSU2000!"

Click this link to get to the files area here where you will find ProntoEdit v1.05 That's the one that you want.

Spec,

Bruce is absolutely correct! The reason you don't want to use anything above 1.05 is later versions of ProntoEdit will render your TSU1000 useless, it will kill it. There have been several threads regarding this, do a search and you will find them if you want or need further information.

Roger, it is the other way round. PE 1.05 can kill a 2000 (if you and update the firmware).

Spec, Bruce and Roger. You can safely use PE 2.0 with a 1000. However, you are better off using 1.05 as there are some bugs in 2.0. And, of course, if you put some UDB codes into your CCF, they are useless when downloaded to a 1000.

Peter...

I don't doubt your technical accuracy, but why does the notation for Pronto Edit 2.0 in the files area say the following???:

The full ProntoEdit package including software emulator. No firmware is included (download below). Adds support for the TSU2000's built-in code database, as well as sporting a slightly redesigned user interface. ProntoEdit v2.0 is only for use with the
TSU2000!
This is not the forthcoming downloadable version designed for all Pronto users.

Bruce: PE V2 was designed for the 2000, but it can be safely used with a 1000, but like Peter said, 1.05 is better. As for the warning on Daniel's site, he probably put it since it is on Philips site. The only danger is the CCF size, but that can be easily changed in any version of PE. And the inconvenience that if something goes wrong you will need to reinstall PE 1.05 to flash the firmware.

Bruce, your HTML probably does not have an end table in it. The rest of thread has inherited your table.

Hi Peter...

I noted that before and I even pulled the code into FrontPage, and juggled it a little, but before I could figure out what was causing different results, and the differnce in the way FrontPage did code vs what I saw in Daniel's code by pulling it into Notepad as straight text, it was time to leave for Thanksgiving dinner with the family.

So, I just took out the code and put in a straight forward response. I am still on a learning curve for anything past basic html that I tought myself by example from looking at web pages in Notepad.

Tables remains a mystery for the most part and I am currently more concerned to get the page done by the software and worrying less about the actual underlying code needed.
