Hi there,
I live in Switzerland and can get the Pronto for about the same price here as I can over the net from a North American provider.
I have two questions:
1. The ProntoEdit code seems to be different for the two. Does this mean that ccf files that have been written for a North American user will not run on a European Pronto or are ccf files completely interchangeable between European and North American models.
2. Is there a potential voltage problem with the battery recharging unit from the North American model being plugged into 220 V European main line voltage?
Sorry if these questions have been covered before, and thanks for your help.
Dave

Prontoedit will work with either USA or Europe models, just bare in mind which version of PE is relevant to your Pronto (ie PE 1.05 for the 1mb versions, either TSU1000 or 890).
The docking station will come with a US power adapter and you will need to replace this to allow it to function on 220, but in theory the docking station itself can be used anywhere. You would probably be better to get a docking station locally though to be sure.

1) The question is not one of location but of remote. PE V2 can be used with any Pronto, but V1.05 works better and can be used with the TS-1000, RU890, RU940 but not the TSU-2000). The TSU-2000 has a built in database of IR codes that can only be used with the TSU-2000, if you use PE V2 you can do a "save as" and open it in PE V1.05. Some of the CCFs here were created using RC5000setup V2 and RAVEdit, you will also need to use "save as" to use parts of those CCFs.
2) like Rufus said. the Charger has two parts the transformer and the cradle. The easiest thing to do is to get a new transformer.
