Figured out over the last couple of days how to make panels, add buttons etc..

Now have the remote jumping around nicely from page to page using small tab buttons for each device.

Question:
I have a keypad ( 1-9 ) on my tv page and the same keypad again on the teletext page..I've programmed each key using the "learn" command and my telly remote.

I ( sort of ) understand there is a way for
" aliasing " a button so it's function can be copied onto other panels, i.e you wouldn't have to learn every button for each new panel.

Can someone ( in plain english ) explain how to do this. I can't find anything specific under the FAQ's or the search functions.

Thanks

Ged

I did this by creating panels for each of the remotes I have and uploading the IR codes into those panels. Then create the panel you want as an action panel containing the action buttons, eg, Watch TV, Watch DVD, Listen to Radio.
Right click the action button and open properties. You will see the option for alias. So for example you wanted to watch TV you would create an alias to probably the TV on button, an alias to the Amp/Receiver on button, and maybe an alias to the TV channel button (if you have a favorite TV channel). You can do this for all your kit. You may need to include some delays between the aliases to allow the signal to transmit and the receiver to convert it.
Also have a look at

Hope this helps

If you go back to ProntoEdit, you can double click on the button and then on the action tab. You will see a button named "Alias". You press that button and you will see a list of your devices, you click on the one where the button is located (to get to the list of panels). Then a list of panels will show up, so you click on the panel (to get a list of buttons) and then you pick the button and OK. you will notice in the action list something like "tele-panel1-1" (or whatever is the name of the device, panel and button)
