Folks,

I'm just at the stage where I'm going to have to replace my Pronto screen. I have read several threads about others replacing their screens to try and find out what the best replacement would be.

There is a lot of reading in those threads so I figured it would have been nice to have some nice "stats" to assist people who maybe in my position in the future.

Is there any chance that those who have changed the pronto screens could put a consise post here with the following information:

- Remote Model #
- Old Screen Model #
- New Screen Model #
- Ways in which the new screen is better (if any)
- Ways in which the new screen is worse (if any)
- Where you bought the new screen

Once we've gathered together enough posts, I'm sure I could compile some sort of stats and perhaps persuade Daniel to put them somewhere on this wonderful site (in the FAQ regarding replacing the screen perhaps).

Many thanks,
Andy.

I don't know what others will advise, but I have heard that a new screen over on our side of the pond is prox US$90.00 from Philips... that is rumor and not fact, btw.

I would very seriously consider calling their UK tech support number to find out what they would charge you to do the replacement before you make a final decision, only because you will then have a comparison and can evaluate the whether the additional cost to have them do it, but having some kind of warranty from them, is worth it compared to you taking on the job yourself.
