Just got Pronto TSU2000... love it so far. I've already set it up to operate 7 components and everything is working fine. I did not use the computer/ProntoEdit for any designing, editing, etc... I did the entire set up on the remote itself.

Now I want to use ProntoEdit to do some design work myself or transfer some TV logos and/or CCFs from this website to my remote. However, I am not sure how.

1. Since my remote is already set up, can I simply replace a device button that merely states "DVD" with a DVD logo (or a bitmap that I design?) without having to reprogram IR codes into the remote?

2. My understanding is that the CCF files on this website already include button layouts (great) and macro and infrared codes (bad?), but what if the IR codes are for components other than mine or the macros do things I don't want?. Do I download the CCF and replace its IR codes and macros with mine?

3. What do I do first?... Since my remote is already set up do I upload it to ProntoEdit then do my edit/design work? Or do I do the design work first then download it to the remote? For the most part I might want to just replace some of the plain square and round buttons with some logos or pictures.

4. Where do you get the little pictures of the TVs, steros, DVDs, etc? I found TV & network logos on this website, however, what about other pictures?

Any help would be very much appreciated. Jerry

My understanding is:

1) Yes

2) Yes

3) Upload, then edit, then download new configuration to pronto

4) Check in the files section of this website.. you can get someone else's complete ccf or go to the other files section and get galleries of buttons etc

There's also a lot of good information here:

Also, download the Pronto Edit Manual here:

You are right in what you said. The best thing to do is upload from the Pronto to the PC your CCF and save it. Like you said a CCF is the total thing, how it will look and behave. If you want to replace your design I would recommend you read "Create an ALIAS.CCF" the link is above on the yellow bar. You might also want to read what I posted in [Link: remotecentral.com]
