Hello all. I have a Sony Sat A-55 and the descrete On-Off codes that I have copied and pasted from this site into PproEdit don't work. Are there any other sources for the A-55 out there some where? Also, the Power On-Off codes from the UDB don't work either.

Thanks,
Mike

There are none. Only Sony's "System Off" command will work (though it may affect other Sony devices as well).

Thanks Daniel. I'll give this a try, but, like you said, it will most likely turn off my DVD and other Sony stuff as well. Rats!

Here's the discrete codes for my Sony Sat A55 which DO work for me!

ON

0000 0067 0000 0010 0060 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0303

OFF

0000 0067 0000 0010 0060 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0303

I need to double-up these codes or they work unreliably. This is typical for Sony products. Perhaps that is why you are having trouble.

Those are the same as the DSS codes already available on this site, which were known to NOT work. Perhaps Sony has fixed this on newer batches?

I can definitely confirm that they both (On and OFF) work on my SAT-A55. And just to make sure that I wasn't confused about what I was doing in my macros, I verified them last night. Those codes that I posted above work for my receiver. Also I have a Sony "system off" that also always works to discretely turn this receiver off.

I don't know about "doubling-up" the codes as rdoc mentions above. I used them exactly as above and they have never failed to work for me.

I got my receiver new this year. If anyone is interested in any more specifics about my receiver, let me know.

I purchased my A-55 this year as well and the on-off codes posted here do not work for my system. Maybe I got an old stock or something. Maybe we should compare serial numbers. Daniel's system off is working ok as I am usually using only one Sony device at a time so when I turn off the SAT the others are already off. The only problem I have right now is I don't have a descrete On command. I had to learn the toggle command from the remote to turn it on. Not perfect, but it seams to work for now.
