Is it possible to program the mute button so that it would control power on/off functions?

Arnie,

Yes, any of the hard buttons can 'learn' any function you desire. This can be done by visiting the 'Action' list in either System, Device, or Macro Group properties using the PC software package that came with your remote. Others may know of a way to do this outside of the PC but I've never done this procedure without a PC online.

If you have not had the opportunity to do so, you may want to take a look at the FAQ/Help section on this site. It's a good starting place for understanding the full capabilities of your remote.

Regards,
Lyndel
