I'm getting ready to take the plunge. Am I right in assuming it would be better to purchase the TSU2000? I assume it does everything the TSU1000 does and then some.

Any negatives to the 2000 over the 1000 other than price?

Thanks

Deane

You are right.
The 2000 is a 1000 with more memory and a universal IR database. I prefer the colour of the 1000, and since it is not painted scratches should be less noticeable, but then again that is not negative in the true meaning of the word

I would think as a Primary remote, the TSU2000 is the way to go. If one were considering additional remotes, the TS1000 refurb route may be the way... certainly not with a new TS1000 because I am not aware of any price advantage.

Though I don't have much faith in Philips re-mfg process the people who have gotten one of what appears to be a much higher %-age of failed units from J&R seem to be pleased with the way the they are handling the replacements.
