When I finished my CCF for the contest, I had problems connecting to the net so I never got to send it in before the contest end. I will send it in for the file section. The worst thing is that I really liked some of the stuff I did. And for some reason (until yesterday morning) I thought the contest ended on Friday, so I thought I had more time for all my changes.

Sorry for taking up space, I just felt I needed to vent a bit, I am really annoyed, and I really was planning on entering (like I had said in other posts) but I guess some times life just sucks.

I guess its ultimate goal of giving some ideas to others will still happen

Well, you know what they say...
If you don't win, you weren't in... ;)

Looking forward to seeing some of your new stuff though...

I don't think I have the tallent like a lot of people here, but there were a few things I was proud of. I worked hard on it, and even though I did not think I had a chance of winning, I still wanted to give it a try

Wow! Anthony...

I feel really bad for you, but with a title like the one you used, if it doesn't bring Joel out of hiding, I think we will have to start thinking some foul play may have occured.

Why do you say that you think you had no chance to win? Wasn't the contest based on originality, and we know you can be original just by reading your posts!

Martin: Even though it looks like I was answering your post, I had not read it.

As to why I did not think I had a chance. There are a web developers and custom installers, and people that have setup hundreds of Prontos, and many more who have more tallent and knowledge. I don't even have a receiver. I don't have any artistic tallent, I dont have fancy drawing programs (I used Paint and PowerPoint) and I don't have as much experience setting Prontos up for fancy entertainment centers or home theaters (I don't own a receiver and I had ton ask aroun how people use them to try and decide whatwas important)

I send it using the file methode. I will also send it with the win a pronto method. I would not like to cause any problems, so if anyone complains just chuck it out.

Daniel: I forgot to say thanks in my last post, I just wanted to send it to you as soon as possible :-)

(BTW I started this thread because I felt like screaming and to let anyone know why I did not have an entry even though I tried to get others to participate and not to get Daniel to let me enter)

Martin: thanks for wishing me luck, did you participate?

No Anthony, I did not (which of course is giving you an additional chance to win...).

LOL!

Oh NO!... I hope you didn't just start a change in thread direction to a bunch of "I didn't enter either to also give Anthony a better chance's"

As long as JJP doesn't chime in soon, I think it's probably safe. And we KNOW Joel is still among the missing and that no one can understand BB J JB most of the time.

BTW... I didn't enter either so that Anthony would have a better chance. (And that's a lie!)

I'll have to say that if Anthony wins, you're going to have a riot on your hands, Daniel. There were rules and you can't 'legally' make an exception for him without including any and all late entries. We're not talking about a Tshirt here, it's a $1000 remote.

And your point is???? ;-)

You don't even know the judges. And artistic talent is only one part of the judging area. Did I not read "Fit and finish" and "Overall something-or-other".

And only 4 components are required. Being able to set up a 4 device .ccf and a 24 device .ccf can be the same thing in my mind.

I use this analogy from my construction days:

One day the carpenter working with me told me that I had constructed a piece of wall the wrong way and told me to redo it. I explained to him why I thought it would be better and stronger. He told me that he had been a carpenter for 20 years, and to do it his way. I found out later from other carpenters that my way was much better. You can do something the same way for 20 years but that doesn't make it right!

So, Anthony, I'm glad you entered, because you have just as much chance as the people who have been writing .ccf's since the Pronto came out.

......I would like to throw in the caveat that I in no way think that all people who have been writing .ccf's for a number of years are doing them wrong!! No flames, please! ;-)

I just wanted to let people know that everyone has a chance at winning! Who knows what you'll come up with and what hidden talents you have that will impress the judges!

... Greg :-)
When ignorance is bliss, ‘tis folly to be wise.
