For those of you who have the remote... Is this a microsoft remote, or is it a 3rd party product. Also, if it is the genuine article and they have any at the store where you bought your Xbox, please buy one for me, and I'll pay you through Paypal, including shipping, and 5 bucks just for the trouble. email me if you can do this.

if you are having trouble with your pronto learning it's commands, do you have the xbox remote behind the pronto? easiest thing to mix up. the ir input is on the bottom of the pronto. like i said, my tu2000 learns the xbox remote commands fine.
i think the remote is made by microsoft. it says made in indonesia for whatever that's worth

it is the original microsoft remote, and, everything is lined up fine, in fact my xbox screens i made up in prontoedit learn other remotes fine (i tested them to make sure the problem wasn't with one of my fancy prontoedit screens).

the xbox remote works finr, however, the pronto just acts like nothing is there when i try beaming the over!

Xbox is amazing!

Halo is one of the best games ever, especially in multiplayer. One player is awesome too. DOA3 has beautiful graphics.

The vibration on the controllers is awesome, the vibration seems to have many different "tones".

No need for that stupid memory card. Has a built in hard drive, that even lets you save your favorite songs on it to play while in a game, if you don't like the games soundtracks.

Sound is increadable! It supports DTS!!! In halo if you talking to someone while facing them the sound (voice) comes out of the front speakers, turn around and then the sound comes out of the rear speakers since the person is behind you.

I paid the extra for component and let me just tell you picture quality is AWESOME, I cant stess that enough!!!

I got gamecube too, to tell the truth I was disapointed at the graphics. In mario the gay little helper dude speaks in japanese or some crap the whole time (they have english captions) but it gets REALLY annoing. Waverace is fun but I think I like splashdown for PS2 better, splashdown has better graphics too.

I haven't seen gamecube in progressive scan yet because nintendo hasn't released the component adapter yet.

Bottom line is if you can find a Xbox to buy, then buy it!!!

To clarify an earlier post, the translucent green special edition Xbox was only available to members of the Xbox team. I probably shouldn't admit this, but I work for Microsoft and I had to buy my Xbox at a retail store just like everyone else. However, I do get a good deal on the games and controllers at our company store. And just to add my plug, Halo is one of the best games I have ever played.

Does the XBOX support a VGA/RGB output? I know it has component and also 5.1 digital audio outs as well with the adapter.

The Xbox does not currently support VGA/RGB output. It's possible that Microsoft or a 3rd party will put out an A/V unit that will do that in the future.

BTW... I just got a remote from a guy off of yahoo auctions. the remotes are going for about $60 on ebay, but they are selling for less on yahoo (which is the case for most things) Remote works good, and I like the Xbox's DVD interface. It is very professional, and easy to use- not like the PS2s which I thought looked a little unprofessional, crude and quickly thrown together. I'm lovign that Xbox more and more everyday. I also goes to show that there is a reason why Microsoft is so big, and its products so popular- they just make the best stuff. (well I won't bring up the take control remote, that's a different story.)
