I've hunted about the postings, read Daniel's review etc, but did not find an answer to this question. I'd like to use the 6000 for speed and contrast if I can make use of my existing CCFs with minimal actions to colorize the bit map and text label. Are there any threads on this subject; how to evolve from 2-6000?

Thanks

DON

You should download ProntoProEdit and experiment.

It asks you what color to change for each of the 4 greyscales in the original B&W. That is as far as it goes for colorizing. If you want different icons to colorize differently, convert them using separate CCFs.

You need to do your own work to further change the colors in icons using a graphics editor. Text is easy as you can select the colors directly for text in PPE.

There was a recent thread on how to go about colorizing bitmaps.

Plus there is a cool new feature to replace icons under tools, modify bitmaps. So you can replace all instances of an image with an other (you click on the image, and then you pick the replacement file)

Thanks folks, I will do that. Any advice on which color sets look best/most useful with the 1-in-4 choices and accompanying text color-choice?

I take it that all the learned-codes/macros etc convert over wihtout needing attention.

I'm maintaining CCFs for 1000 and 2000 right now and did not want a totally new base to deal with, although would no doubt gradually convert some icons as they become available and look good/useful

Cheers,

DON

1) I don't know, but try it out on the remote, some colours look better together on the PC then on the remote. But Black and white or light and dark go better together then two distinct dark colors or light ones

2) I had no problems

3) dfeldmanmt we are in the same boat. We are using Pronto's for our videoconfrencing equipment all over the world. One of my jobs is to maintain all of the CCFs. I just finished one for our CEO's new equipment. It will be the first Pro in our network. I try to keep all CCFs as close as possible so travelers will know how to use the equipment (except for the labels that are also in the local language).

Jared: how do you use a Pronto for tech support? Just curious. I wonder how many others on here use the Pronto for non conventional (entertainment) usage, and in a work environment. I am sure Philips never thought of us.

I mostly use it to get IR codes into our format for our customers. Don above is one of them that I have done tech support for. Our IR code learner doesn't do as well as the Pronto. Plus people can send me a ccf file instantly or I can download one intstantly instead of having the customer ship me remotes to learn. Then I use ccfdecompiler and I wrote a program that extracts the IR codes from the csf file and then converts them to our format. Plus, a lot of our customers use the Pronto with our system. Work bought a TSU-1000 for work use but they didn't want to buy me a ProntoPro. So, I figured I would enter the contest and try to win one that would be mine. I have never even used a Pronto in a Home Theater before. So far, all I have at home is a TV and VCR. Hopefully that will change soon.

Also, we do not charge cutomers money for tech support and I only do tech support about 5 hours a week.

I am glad you got in the contest, though. Good luck!

Your home equipment sounds as complicated as mine :-). But I also have a Pronto (TS-1000), looking at all the cool CCFs here and knowing what it is capable of doing made me want one. Good luck to you too.

Hello Jared, good to hear from you. I'll call for your advice.

My support is only for a few customers Anthony, in home automation applications --home theater, lights, etc. Pronto is the customer's interface to their home's electronics, and the Pro wold make it easier to use in widely varying light conditions.

Thanks again for the replies...DON
