I have a RCA extender. Works great with all my equipment. I have everything in a cabinet with wood doors and I use it to control the components with the doors shut. It's priced pretty reasonable and you can get it at Wal-mart or any electronics store. Good Luck!!

If you want I have a great IR Extender kit from XANTECH.

It is really easy to install. Let me know if you need/want it. It is brand new unopened in the box.

You can research on XANTECH.COM. It is the 291KIT. I actually have 2 of them. I use this one myself and it works great, suppossed to be one of the better ones out there.

Goto www.xantech.com then to amplifiers, then to 291-KIT.

[Link: smarthome.com] works very well - I use it.If you just need one emitter it might be cheaper to assemble from individual components.

This could work however without seeing the physical space I cannot assure it. Prisms work well for receiveing flashing ir signals out. Small flat prisms are made. You may wanna try picking one of them up and playing with placement to see if it improves yoru situation. If all else fails, go the ir route like some others have mentioned.

I am not sure if it is 2.4 or not, check xantech's website.

www.xantech.com then go to amplifiers then to the 291KIT.

I don't know the retail value, so make an offer. Also, if anyone knows the retail value please let me know.

jtbmoore,
I guess by asking about 2.4 gigahertx, you are assuming that the Xantech equipment is wireless. It is a hardwired (18-24 gauge, 3conductor) infrared repeater system. It essentially moves all of your equipment IR "eyes" to one location. I have been using Xantech products on most of my installations for the past 5 years. It is very reliable and very durable. Suggested retail on the 291-kit is $120.00. The kit will control 4 devices.
It's such a fine line between stupid, and clever.
