I have finally tamed my wild Pronto, though the tweaking will probably go on forever. My new project is building an entertainment center. I'm building a mission style cabinet with glass doors (gotta let the IR in and keep the dust out.)
Anybody know if an IR signal will work okay through leaded and colored glass? I'm pretty flexible still, but before I do a nice stained glass door I need to be sure. I can always put together a nice panel with regular glass if I need to.
Thanks

That's actually a good question. I know it works fine through smoked glass, so probably colored glass would work. But as for that stained glass, the kind that's all mottled and textured, might just diffuse the sugnal. Just a guess. I'd be curious if anyone has the answer.
You could always get a small pane, put it over the IR window in a device and check it out.

Don't know if you can get them that side of the pond, but over here you can get a small IR receiver/amp that then routes the signal down fibre optic cable and emits in front of the sensor. Hide all the gear out of the way completely and still use IR control, works well.

I had considered that, but I'm hoping to avoid any more electronics/expenses. I will probably just try some samples first. I'll let you know how things work.
Cheers
