d: what is wrong with ball bearings? If it works, who cares. On the other hand it is not a loud or anoying sound, you have to try and hear it. But I guess if you don't know about it you would think something is broken.

Oferlaor: It is not an etchasketch (sp?), any movement turns it on (such as picking it up)

Well, we are unanimous. Mine rattles too though I never noticed until seeing this email.
